Bring good Qi with Sun Catcher

I read about sun catcher on somebody's blog and I wanted one too so I ordered on Amazon.

I like my apartment but one of the flaw is not getting sun shine.  I read about sun catcher and it says it brings in good luck by putting in a dark area or bring in rainbow when the sun shines.

My sun catcher. Sun shine through only after 4:00 PM

and there's small rainbow everywhere in my house!

It's nice to have one!

End of the year Cleaning up for good Feng Shui

In Japan, we do "Oosouji" means "massive cleaning up". Maybe similar to spring clean in here.

Dirty spot has a bad "Qi" and people live in the dirty house won't have a good luck.

So from 1st of December, I try to dust off shelves, ceiling fan blades, wipe off dirty spots inside of the shelf doors.. Devote 15 minutes a day to clean up one spot, and hopefully by the end of the year, my house will look clean, and we'll have good luck in next year...

So far, I've done most of the dusting off done. There were a lot of dust, I know I need to do this at least once every month or so, but I wouldn't do it.

I was surprised when I saw a cleaning lady coming to my host family's house cleaning kitchen. I thought they must be really rich since in Japan, we don't see many people hiring maid to clean their house unless they are really rich. Later on, I learned in here middle income people casually hire maid to clean their house. I guess it's getting common in Japan too, especially when they clean inside of  air conditioner.

We once ordered maid service once. It cost nearly $300!! My husband signed up, and I tried to stop it but that was when my daughter was around 1 year old and I was exhausted..

Well, I have done a lot already for cleaning up, I need to clean door, windows, and bathroom tomorrow!

I could have this using that $300. I hope the clean house will bring better money luck for next year.

Money luck feng shui

I read a Japanese Feng Shui guru, Dr. Copa's book every year. According to his book, to strengthen your money luck, you need to clean the west side of your house first, then put some yellow and white stuff (flowers are the best) there. It is not good to have bathrooms or your kitchen on the west side of your house, if you do, you have to make sure you keep those areas very clean.
Unfortunately, my house has a bathroom on the west side. Actually, I need to clean there, so I will now!

Feng Shui boom in Japan

Last 10 years, the Feng Shui boom has been raised in Japan. (Feng means wind, Shui means water) The belief originated from China, dating back some five thousand years. "Feng Shui" seeks to enhance the quality and flow of life force energy, called "Qi" According to Feng Shui, people's luck depends on what direction the house's door, windows, and bathrooms face, and the colors of the furniture, and what they eat and how they eat. First, direction has much meanging in Feng Shui. Each direction represents a meaning : North is descendant and savings, East is business and southeast is love. If you want to improve your love or romance luck, you should live in a room which is located in the southeast section or part of your house, with its window faced to the southeast. Second, color also plays a great role. For example, at the north end of the room, people who believe in Feng Shui should use white and dark colors; these colors mean "purity and calm." to the east, they use red and blue to bring "vigor". To the south, green is used to bring "prosperity." It is also recommended to put plants here and there. The way of eating and what they eat also affects their luck. If they eat noodles a lot, their human relationships will be improved. If they eat crab and shrimp a lot, their charm will be increased, and the will power is strengthened if they eat the noodles or crab or shrimp at the beginning and the ending of the meal. It may sound stupid to other cultures, but many Asian people are very superstitious and I am one of them.
